Snow guaranteed in the Pitztal at the roof of Tyrol in Austria

Powerful, active and touching!  That’s what people say when thinking about the nearly 40 kilometer long Tyrolean Pitztal in winter. The special geographical location of the three ski areas Hochzeiger, Rifflsee and Pitztaler Gletscher not only give guests an above-average number of hours of sunshine, but also provide snow security between September and May.

Pitztal Glacier: skiing, touring, ice climbing and enjoying in Austria’s highest café!

With slopes for all skill levels, the Pitztal Glacier is one of the snowiest and at the same time most demanding glacier ski area. Skiing begins in September. Austria’s highest cable car, the Wildspitzbahn, transports guests through eternal ice and reaches the 3440-meter-high Hinterer Brunnenkogel from the valley station at 2840 meters. Here stands the famous “Café 3440”, Austria’s highest café with its own cake creations, free-floating terrace and panoramic glass front with a view at over more than 50 peeks over 3000 meters.

Whilst powder junkies experience various off-piste variants and deep snow, ski touring enthusiasts find a perfect starting point for ski tours to the highest mountain in Tyrol, the 3774 meter high Wildspitze, and magnificent runs back down to the valley.

Connected to the Pitztal Glacier is the Rifflsee ski area which delivers additional skiing pleasure.
