365 days of the year – Hintertux Glacier

[Unpaid Advertisement]

It’s been a long time. But when I did my ski instructor courses for the Austrian Alpine Club in the 1990s, I was able to convince myself: Summer skiing on the Hintertux Glacier (German: Hintertuxer Gletscher) is great.

The Hintertux Glacier offers winter sports enthusiasts perfectly groomed, snow-sure runs 365 days of the year!

Nearly nowhere else in Austria is skiing as varied and enjoyable as in the upper Zillertal Valley. As Austria’s only year round ski resort, the Hintertux Glacier offers winter sports enthusiasts perfectly groomed, snow-sure runs 365 days of the year. As well as great food and a fascinating experience of nature at altitudes of up to 3,250 m.

Great attractions awaiting you!

Especially in summer and autumn, the Hintertux Glacier is the place to be for everyone who can’t wait until the coming winter season! Beginners as well as experienced skiers and snowboarders have over 60 km of slopes in all levels of difficulty at their disposal. A special attraction for deep snow fans are the fantastic free-ride runs at the Lärmstange. Snowboarder and free-skiers certainly appreciate the freestyle-opportunities at the Snowpark called Betterpark Hintertux at 3,200 m, the highest freestyle spot in Austria.

But not only skiing or snowboarding is possible at Hintertux Glacier

However there are also great attractions for non-skiers, hikers or families. The Nature’s Ice Palace is a natural gem, unique worldwide and an ideal year round excursion destination for the whole family. On guided tours, visitors are asked to „Step inside” to this wonderful world deep beneath the ski slopes. For example to discover a glacial crevasse with magical ice stalactites, giant sparkling ice crystals and frozen waterfalls.

Hintertux Glacier – boredom will never come into play

The highlights for visitors? Maybe the boat trip on the natural glacier lake at the end of the VIP tour through Nature’s Ice Palace. Or spectacular views from a bird’s-eye perspective which you can enjoy from the panorama terrace at an altitude of 3,250 m. It’s the highest point in the Zillertal Alps which is accessible by cable car. The natural monument Spannagel Cave can also be explored by guided tours. In the largest mountain cave of the Central Alps you can marvel at stalactites, crystals and erosion potholes. The area offers variety, fun and action for young and old 365 days a year. Boredom will never come into play thanks to an incredible array of events!

My bottom line is that: The fun is the same as in the 1990s, the offers much more diverse than then. Check out Hintertux Glacier website and stop by!

NICE TO SKI YOU
Cheers,
Peter
