Super C Couloir, Portillo, Chile

Super C Couloir, Portillo, Chile. Around the world famous Hotel Portillo in the Chilean Andes there are a lot of world-class lines to drop in, but Portillo’s most legendary is the Super C Couloir. You need to climb the Roca Jack Couloir to a traverse and on to the saddle of Ojos de Agua mountain where you drop in. Photo (playing card) by Brennan Lagasse.

The Super C Couloir has a steep gradient, with slopes reaching up to 45 degrees in some sections. The couloir is narrow, with limited room to make turns and can have variable snow conditions. Overall, the Super C Couloir in Portillo is considered a challenging ski run that should only be attempted by advanced skiers with the necessary skills and experience.

Skiing in Chile at Ski Portillo

Located in the heart of the Andes mountains in Chile, Portillo Ski Resort is a world-renowned destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Portillo was the first ski resort in South America and has played an important role in world ski history. The only South American resort to ever host the World Ski Championships (in 1966), Portillo remains an icon in the ski world. The resort is known for its reliable snowfall and challenging terrain, making it a favorite among advanced skiers and snowboarders. With only 450 resort guests and only a limited number of day tickets sold, there are rarely any lift lines at Ski Portillo.
