Piste du Mont Fort, Verbier 4 Vallées, Switzerland

Piste du Mont Fort, Verbier 4 Vallées, Switzerland. The mostly unprepared slope, which is one of the steepest in Europe, connects the highest point of the 4 Vallées, the Mont-Fort, with the Col des Gentianes. From the top of Mont-Fort you have an impressive view of the most beautiful peaks in the Alps, including the Matterhorn and Mont-Blanc. Photo (playing card) by Etienne Bornet.

Verbier 4 Vallées is the largest ski area entirely located in Switzerland. Open for 10 months every year, the area is a paradise for skiers. It has 410 km of runs, ranging from the easiest to the most demanding. Verbier is also famous in the freeride world, with 7 secure, marked but ungroomed routes, such as the Mont-Gelé, the Col des Mines, the Vallon d’Arbi and the Mur de Chassoure.
